 The Indonesian elections in 2014 – the parliamentary elections in April and in particular the presidential elections in July – are significant in many ways. The April elections mark important changes in the political make-up of the political parties and the State in the coming years. This has become even more important as the presidential elections presented greater contrast and confrontation between two very different contenders, Joko Widodo and former general Prabowo Subianto. Given the great and enthusiastic participation of the society, the elections have led to political changes, polarization and tensions. Questions thus arise: Will Jokowi’s victory represent real reforms of Indonesia’s body politics?

Aboeprijadi Santoso hat die Wahlkampagne sowie deren Prozesse vor Ort beobachtet und analysiert. Wir freuen uns über die Möglichkeiten zu haben, ihn in Aachen willkommen zu heissen.Vortrag und Diskussion in indonesische und deutscher Sprache.

Anschließend wird ein indonesisches Abendessen angeboten und es besteht die Möglichkeit zu weiteren Gesprächen und Information.
